Biquette is a New York-based knitwear brand creating artist-designed blankets and scarves, made to order at our own knitting mill on Long Island, NY.

With over 60+ years of combined experience in knitwear and yarn sourcing, our team started Biquette with a simple thought: why was it so hard to find beautifully designed blankets that didn't compromise on quality?

We wanted pieces that combined premium natural fibers, exceptional craftsmanship, and curated aesthetics, but struggled to find anything that truly matched our taste and standards. So, with our own knitting mill and a passion for thoughtful design, we decided to make them ourselves!

At our core are three principles: original artwork from independent artists, premium materials made to last, and thoughtful, sustainable production. Together, they reflect our belief that everyday textiles should be more than functional. They should be pieces of art worth keeping.

Our manufacturing practices

We believe in moving away from mass-produced, one-size-fits-all designs toward pieces that feel personal, thoughtfully curated, and made to last. By collaborating with independent artists, we bring distinctive artwork to life through textiles that are as beautiful to look at as they are to live with.

Unlike brands that outsource production, we own and operate our knitting mill. From choosing the finest yarns and refining colors to knitting, hand-finishing, and inspecting every piece, we're involved in every step.

Everything is made in-house in New York, giving us direct control over quality and the freedom to create with intention rather than compromise.

Made in-house in Mineola

Every blanket is knit by our own team at our mill in Mineola, Long Island with design conversion, yarn selection, sampling, knitting, and hand-finishing and packing all happening in the same building.

We pair premium materials with high quality care as we're part of the entire manufacturing process and ensure each knit adheres to our standards.

We hire from the local community, follow fair labor practices, and keep the workplace safe and clean. Blankets get more care when the people making them are treated well!

Knit to order

We're a sustainable manufacturer. Every piece is knit to order with 100% natural fibers: Extra Fine Merino Wool, Organic Cotton, or Egyptian Cotton. No synthetics which is unfortunately all too common within the world of textiles.

Additionally, a lot of the textile industry overproduces, and unsold stock ends up in landfill. That's true even when the material is organic or recycled, because the fiber, water, and energy that went into it are wasted all the same.

Oh, and the name "Biquette"? It's a term of endearment in French. It means "little goat."
